My big chopper

A shit to wash up, but does a good job of chopping things small.

First round of golf for '09

Dusted off the clubs and went round the Meole Brace municipal course this morning with Craig & Richard, haven't had a game in 4 months.

64 strokes and loads of room for improvement, but cracking weather and some good exercise.

I blocked Thomas Power

I've had an account on Ecademy for almost two years and I still haven't figured out the point, or even why it's called Ecademy.  The site design is crap and every time you try to click on something you are prompted to upgrade, and you are spammed with "be my friend" requests by complete strangers trying to kiss you arse.

Where is the incentive for banks to sort it out?

If you watch the news regularly you'll know that the media is full of doom, gloom and all round bad news.  I learnt a few years back that it is important to keep a positive outlook on things, so at the moment it is rare that I catch any more than a few minutes news a day.  In fact, I hope this is the first and last negative thing I post on this web site!

From the little bit of news that does catch my attention, (other than Alistair Darling's eye brows) one thing that stands out is how there is little incentive for the UK banks to start picking things up.  Only today on the BBC News web site they are talking about the public stake in RBS to increase, making it 70% owned by the tax payer.

I may only have a basic understanding of the economy though I've made my own decisions to put good money after bad, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out we cannot afford to bail out the banks for ever.  It is a fairly cold and harsh thing to say - and our own mortgage is with RBS - but do we need to put a cap on how much of tax payer money is spent on the banks, and maybe even let one fall on its ass?

How do you say no?

Yesterday at the office I had a call from somebody who wants to be our customer, I phrase it like that because we've dealt with him in the past and it's a pain in the ass that we could do without.  We've all got bad customers but this guy is rude, abusive to his staff, and crap at paying his bills - what else could you ask for?

So I'm stuck; if we service him this one time then what happens the next time?

Getting too old for this drinking lark

My head well and truly hurts, I feel like shit.  Granted that staying up till 5 this morning drinking fizz probably didn't help, but my head still hurts all the same.

Update @ 19:56: a long soak in a very hot bath is great for shifting those sucker head aches Laughing
